More Chapter 17

So it came to pass, over the next few days, Charles and Lexa, Xation and Leah all grew to know each other much more intimately. The happiness and pure divine pleasure they shared in each other's company was something rare and spectacular to see. Everyone who were in the presence of the radiant, young couples, were all left with a bit of joy in themselves, for it does the heart good to see love blossom between human beings.
Now they, of course, had the PGA event to attend and they all went together, however due to Lexa's former professional player status her passes were V.I.P., that meant she and her sister could go behind the ropes and interact with the players and staff, but that would mean leaving their sweethearts, Charles and Xation, behind. So instead of rubbing elbows with the World Golf Elite, Lexa and Leah remained with the two handsome men throughout all three days of the tournament. It was a marvelous time for all who made the long journey there out in the sun, by the shore. This time spent together helped to draw Xation closer to his lovely lady Leah, and Charles became quite taken and smitten with his gorgeous little, playful kitten, Lexa
As we all know, our time in paradise flies by far too quickly, and towards the last few days of their holiday, the men would come and stay over at the twins hotel, enjoying the island life of Lanai, there was a horse-back ride through the dark green forests to a hidden waterfall, hours laying on the beach soaking up the rays of the sun and lots of alcohol, a three hour kayak tour of the shore line, followed by sea-salt scrubs and massages in the spa for one and all. One moonlit night, the last they were all supposed to be together, Xation disappeared with Leah, taking her for a night drive in the Corvette, down to the beach. It was a cool night out on the water and all the stars of Heaven, it seemed, had come out to shine upon them, as they stole kisses from one another in the night. The roar of the pounding surf crashing against the cold sand exploding in a white frothy-foam, drowning out any words the two may of had for each other, but words did not matter here tonight.
As Leah stood before him, her long golden hair was lifted by the sea wind, as he gently stroked a silken strand away from her eyes Xation wrapped his nice strong arms around her, giving her a deep, long and loving kiss, her mouth was sweet like a ripe berry bursting forth all of it's succulent juices. Without a moment of delay, or time to think, the two lovers stripped off the clothes off of one another's longing bodies, without a care if anyone could see them, or was watching, they stood there naked in the night, facing each other, her pert breast chilled by the frigid air, her nipples hard and erect, then the powerful forces moving within him could no longer be contained. In a flash, as fast as a heartbeat, Xation laid himself upon the, eager and willing, Leah, in the soft sand without a moment to waste. Filling her with all the delight his body could reach, and it was a very high summit, as they came to together. She was on her back now, Xation was on his knees, the stars seemed all to near, his hot breath upon her skin as she felt all the stress of her body melt away like wax over a flame. Here, now, Leah wanted desperately for this moment to last forever, as they gasped out loudly, trying to catch their breath, their bodies collapsed back down into each other. Surely her heart would stop from all it's savage beating, with her knees up in the air, Xation pushing hard and deep as he released all the tension from his rigid, muscular naked body. So Xation happily ravished this exquisite creature, called Leah, there beside the water, hidden in the darkness, with no prying eyes to see.
They lay together for a moment, the warmth radiating from and out of themselves, until Xation kissed Leah on the mouth and then he led her down into the cold water to rinse off all the sand and fluids from their skin. Swimming out from the shore in the moonlit waters, which shimmered with the twinkling of the bright stars overhead and all around the ink-black sky. Here in the vast cold ocean Leah swam over to Xation, her wet, naked flesh pressed close to him in a loving embrace, then underneath the reflection of the pale, moon's light Leah gazed into Xation's dark eyes, catching a glimpse of her own reflection, and then she started to cry, a pain welling up in the bottom of her heart.
"Sweetheart, what is the matter?" Xation said cradling Leah in his arms, as he waded through the water.
"I am just so happy when we are together, and tomorrow we have to say goodbye." her she rested her head upon his shoulder the water lapping up against her cheek "I just wished our time together, could last forever.., I don't want it to be over."
Xation felt her words pierce his heart with the pain of a deep love: which he had allowed to develop, and now he was sore afraid. Xation was worried, and deeply troubled, because he knew he felt the same way as Leah, for he did not wish for their time to end. There was something else which gnawed at his resolve to stay single, and that was, even though he had only known this woman, what a woman, for less than seven days, Xation knew, and had the instinctive feeling, he would gladly take a bullet in the head for Leah if that meant keeping her safe and alive. Xation had never felt this way before about any of his lovers, so Xation told Leah it would be alright as he got her back to shore, wrapping her up in the picnic blanket he brought along to keep her warm. Then, as he knelt down beside Leah in the sand, Xation took her by the hand and told her "Leah, I would like very much for you, and your sister, to fly back to Argentina with Charles and myself, you can meet the family, see how we live for a few more days. When you are ready to leave, I can have my pilot fly you back home to the States, or anywhere it is that you want to go." Now as all of those who know and love, or hate, Xation Day, his relationship with the Lord had been somewhat strained, but the night found Xation on his knees as he offered up a silent prayer to God, hoping he was not making a terrible mistake.

Chapter 17 continues

There, in the full fresh fragrant evening, the four sat outside under the stars beside the fountain; which overlooked a large shimmering pond across the green lawn, when about half way through a succulent dinner of lobster, a strong storm rolled in from the raging ocean. The rumbling of thunder gave way to lightning as it flashed across the sky, sending our would-be lovers running for shelter as the cold, wet rain came down, pounding the earth from the sky. Xation and Charles scooped up their good ladies in their arms as they ran back into the safety and warmth of the hotel.
Laughing, half drunk, and full from their exquisite meal, Lexa and Leah slipped off their high heels in unison on the ride up to their hotel room on the elevator, their long golden hair dripping wet, their little dresses soaked by the sudden rainstorm, as Charles and Xation, who were soaked to the bone as well, embraced the sisters together sharing the warmth of their bodies as they shivered together, a huge grin of delight etched upon the men's faces.
"Come on boys.., we have plenty of booze upstairs!" Lexa said as she cuddled up against Charles her hot breath on the wet skin of his neck.
So the evening found them drinking and smoking together out on the patio, watching the storm roll by as they told funny stories and crude jokes to each other, until Leah gave a most distressed look to her sister telling her "Dearest sister, I am feeling a little ill.., will you help me to my room?"
"Of course..," Lexa said leaping up from the lap of Charles, who gave Xation a concerned look, as he was a physician. "Gentlemen if you will excuse us." Lexa said putting her arm around Leah who had a pale look about her, probably caused by the highly potent marijuana cigarette they had been smoking.
"Charles?" Xation said, a deep look of concern on his face for the health and well being of his good lady.
"She will be fine Xation.., relax." he said trying to calm his nerves and Charles was right, because in fact, there was absolutely nothing wrong with sweet, deceptive Leah at all, this was a mere ploy to give her five minutes to rinse her body off in the shower and get nice and clean for her man. Leah helped her combed out her wet hair and rub a little body oil into her sister's wet, naked skin, as Leah lay herself down on the feather- soft bed. Lexa gave her a sly smile as she sprayed a little perfume over her amorous sister, who looked like a naked Roman Goddess reclining on the silken sheets of her bed.
Lexa came out of the bedroom with a somber look on her face as Xation asked her "Is she alright?"
To which Lexa only shook her head and said "I don't know Xation, why don't you go in and check on her?" Xation went straight away, closing the door behind him, then Lexa turned to Charles as lightning flickered off in the distant skies, the sound of the crashing waves against the cliffs, the creaking of the trees in the strong wind, she stood before him and said. "Well, we won't be seeing them 'til breakfast." Then with that subtle statement Lexa gave Charles a look as if to say 'I have something special to show you' slowly she unzipped the back of her dress, her bare feet barely touching the floor, as if she were floating a little above it.
Now before she revealed her naked self to him, Charles said "You are like some rare, beautiful angel, of a kind I have never known before."
"No, I am not angel..," she said slipping out of her dress her pert, supple breasts and radiant pure, perfect skin, everything she exposed to him, as Lexa came a little closer, whispering just enough for him to hear her say "Sweet Charles, if I were an angel, I know what you would do to me. You would rip my wings, right out of my back, strip them away from my flesh, just so I could never fly away from you. Wouldn't you?"
"Do you want to fly away from me?" he asked a rush of blood pulsating through his chest and a full hard, hot erection waiting eagerly for her flesh.
"No my darling.., I only want to fly away WITH you." Lexa said as she knelt herself down before him.
"Oh.., I am no angel and I do not know how to fly." he said as Lexa reached down with her hand unzipping his pants.
"And neither do I." and all her words were engulfed by this exquisite silence as Charles sat back on the comfortable couch feeling her warm, wet, slippery mouth and full lips take him all in, giving him all her best, with much excitement, and a magnificent display of vigor, draining away every last drop of his unbridled excitement as the storm raged all around outside, his heart beating hard and fast with a furious and enchanted delight.

Chapter 17 begins

This is how their first night with the Hale twins began, after getting back to to the hotel, Xation and Charles each showered and took a three hour nap before hurrying to get dressed and back down to the pier to catch the ferry back to Lanai. Xation dressed himself in an expensive pair of silk and linen grey trousers, with a white button-down, long sleeved shirt, unbuttoned and un-tucked, with a white Italian sleeveless t-shirt underneath, with a pair of black loafers and a matching belt, his short black hair slicked back. Charles just threw on a pair of comfortable Levi's 501 button-fly jeans, with a white Ralph Lauren polo shirt, his collar popped up, looking like a preppy in a pair of top-siders. The two men eagerly awaited their arrival on the island and hurried to disembark from the ferry, making their way in the sporty Corvette up the switch back roads along the mountain side until about 20 minutes later when they pulled up to the grand Lodge at Koele. Now it was strange for Xation, for he had lived in England from 1976-1980 and this hotel, even though they were smacked dab in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, this Four Season hotel looked exactly like an Edwardian English Hunting Lodge.
Charles and Xation remarked upon the grandeur of the hotel to one another as they drove up the long and winding drive surrounded by towering pine trees, the palatial white lodge with it's never ending front porch, set beside a beautifully manicured croquet lawn, with a massive lobby, the Great Hall, as it was called, everything was opulent and fit for royalty so, of course, Xation felt more at ease and comfortable in his new surroundings. Charles marveled at the 2 huge fire places, nearly 4 stories tall, and 15 feet wide, These massive stone monoliths were set like bookends in the Great Hall. The sitting areas arranged around the fire places; which were always kept lit, burning with cured kiawe logs that smelled like mesquite wood. Here amongst the comfortable, overstuffed chairs in deep rich earth tones, exquisite tapestries and warm woods in the furnishing abound in the huge lobby, where they looked around for the twins, not knowing where to find the bar area. Then one of them appeared, out of her golf attire, dressed in a little, short black, body hugging, cocktail dress, her long legs, flowing golden hair, and high heeled shoes; which now brought her from 5'10 to over 6 feet tall. She looked so tall and seductive, like an Amazon warrior at the heighth of breeding season. Xation and Charles had no idea which one of the twins she was, for Leah and Lexa were indistinguishable. However, when her big bright green eyes lit up at the sight of Xation, Charles and his friend knew exactly who it was. "Leah!" Xation exclaimed as the stunning woman, with ravishing, movie star looks, sashayed over to her would-be-lover. "My God you look amazing!" Xation said as he gave her a little sweet kiss on the lips as she smiled.
"I am so happy to see you Xation!" she said with a hug, hug, kiss, kiss. "Charles..," Leah said as she stood next to Xation, who had his arms around the tall seductive blond "Lexa is in the bar waiting for you, can you order us some drinks? We will meet you in a few minutes." she asked kindly then Charles went the way Leah pointed, and as he looked back he saw Leah and Xation embrace, giving each other a deep and most passionate kiss.
"Dr. Le Mesa, I presume." Leah said loudly sitting alone at her table for 4.
"Oh my God! Sweet Leah!" Charles exclaimed, as he saw her in her little, white cocktail dress, with her tan, supple skin, her long, blond hair a mass of gorgeous curls cascading down her back, a radiant, mystical aura about her, with a mischievous, bright smile and golden hair.
"What have I done now?" she said rolling her eyes, giving the tall, blue-eyed American a generous and lasting hug with a kiss on the cheek.
"You are, my dear lady, in a word, Ravishing." Charles said giving her a tight squeeze, with the thought of bending her over, naked, across the table. Putting this potent imagery from his mind Charles asked his 'California Girl' what she would like to drink.
"I tell you what Charles, I have been in the mood for a Planters Punch, with extra dark rum, all day." Lexa said hypnotically, her voice sounding like a love song.
"Then I shall return momentarily." Charles smiled and off to the bar he went. Now in the short time he was gone a single, older man noticed our sweet Lexa sitting alone at her table, sans drink, and so he sallied forth, sitting himself down beside her, without the good ladies permission, asking if he could buy her a drink, and how sad she looked sitting, all, alone.
Now, before she responded Charles turned back around from the bar, drinks in hand, and this is what he observed. Lexa leaned in closer to the stranger, her gorgeous face in her hand, her elbow on the table, she moved so close to this unknown man, then she purred like a sex kitten, or Marilyn Monroe, telling the stranger "You know.., you would look so good..," Lexa paused, licking her lips as she continued "tied up in the trunk of my car." to which a sudden horrified and confused look overcame the hapless chaps face as he rose up from the table, in a shocked silence, departing the bar without his drink.
"What was that all about?" Charles asked shocked by what had just transpired, but still very much impressed by how easily she had extricated the interloper from her regal presence with just one sentence.
Lexa only laughed looking up at Charles telling him "Oh.., well what was I to do? I am just a humble American girl. " she said her green eyes full of expression and focused energy. "That is just what I tell people when I don't want to reject them, but I don't want to hang out with them.., works every time. But I would never tell that to you..," Lexa paused taking a long, cool sip off her drink telling Charles with a nudge and a wink, saying, "Though, I was thinking and I have the feeling.., you would look very nice, tied up in my bed." Charles drew in a deep, sensual breath sitting next to his magnificent beauty and she smelled like rare orchids from the cloud forests of Peru.
"May I tell you something?" Charles asked, his pulse quickening, as the mental image of this dear, sweet, lady naked dancing through is head. " You have nothing to be humble about, infact, I think you look like a movie star.., and you shall always hold a place in my dreams."
"High praise indeed!" Lexa laughed giving him a quick, oh so tantalizing, kiss on the lips as her sister and Xation walked in.
"So, I hope you boys are hungry?" Leah said as she gave Charles a little hug and a squeeze. "We have a table out in the English Garden by the fountain. I hope you like lobster!"

End Chapter 16

With his game vastly improving, Charles began to relax enjoying his time out in the Hawaiian sunshine, out on the spectacular ocean-side course, surrounded by the tall green pine and eucalyptus covered hillsides. The best part of the golf match was watching Leah and Lexa bending over in their little, pastel-colored, plaid skirts to retrieve their golf ball from the tin cup. With their nice round bottoms, firm and fruity, like a luscious, ripe peach, Xation and Charles wanted to take a big bite out of. Now the two twin beauties knew they were being watched but they did not mind, that was one of the reasons they stayed in such fine physical shape, for they enjoyed greatly the attention of good looking men.
So they proceeded through the course doing well, having fun, when Leah purposely hooked her ball into a line of trees, off the hind of a sharp 'dog leg', on the 160 yd drive. Lexa told her she only had 5 minutes to find her ball or take a penalty and tee up again. This is when Leah asked her playing partner, Xation, to come and help her look for her ball in the thick of the secluded trees. Xation spotted her ball quickly, telling her "Here it is." To which Leah gave him a serious, passionate look, telling him 'it was too bad they were not able to locate the ball' as she picked up the ball and threw it far off, back into the woods.
"Play for fun, remember?" Leah smiled soft and seductively, standing almost eye to eye with Xation, for she was just a few inches shorter, at 5'10, than his muscular frame of 6ft 1in, Lexa lifted her arms around his neck, Xation embraced her closely, tightly to his body, her breasts pressed tightly against his chest, as their lips met together in a warm, wet, deeply thrilling kiss, filled with much passion and a great deal of pleasure. Xation and Leah could feel the hard, steady, rhythmic beating of each other's heart. In this brief moment that passed between them like electricity, there in the dark of the woods, filled with the calls of the exotic birds, the warm tropical breeze rustling through the leaves all around them. Xation and Leah made a profound connection with each other as a chemistry, and kismet, rose up inside them. Suddenly, without warning, an overwhelming feeling of love and compassion for one another made a home in their hearts, unbeknownst to them at the time.
"Waiting, waiting.., why are we waiting?" Lexa called out as Xation and Leah regained their composure, straightening out their hair and clothes, as they emerged from the wooded area a sly smile of a guilty pleasure fulfilled on their faces. Lexa only rolled her eyes behind her sunglasses as Charles let our a little laugh seeing Xation's pants were unzipped.
So Leah teed-up again and they continued with the match, Lexa thought of slicing her ball off into the next line of trees on the right, to try to sneak off with Charles, but thinking better of it, wanting to take her time with this fine athletic, American fellow. Lexa took a moment as she stood over her ball on the blue tee-box, trying to wipe away the mental picture of a naked Charles laying himself upon her in a big soft bed, she thought of the weight of his body pressing deep into her. Taking in a cool breath, shaking this arousing, stimulating image from her mind she turned all her focus and attention down the fairway on the 10th hole, a diabolical par 3, 121 yards over a rough slope, with a sever water hazard to the left and a massive green side bunker to the right. Even with this challenge ahead of her, Lexa drove the ball high and hard off the tee, and in that pure, precise moment her talent and skill shown through as she made a perfect hole-in-one!
"Did you see that!?" Lexa shouted out with glee.
"Nice!" Charles said giving her a little hug and kiss on the cheek.
Leah gave her sister a sweet smile "Good one sis!" though this was not the first time Leah had witnessed Lexa sink a hole-in-one, and it would not be the last.
"Yes.., very impressive, but now that means you have to buy, everyone, a round of drinks on the 19th hole." Xation reminded Lexa of golf course etiquette.
"Well of course I will buy a round of drinks for everyone at the bar, because that is your consolation prize..," Lexa gave a wry smile. "for not being as good as me." she laughed "Now come on, we are almost done out here today.
"You know Lexa..," Xation said bringing up what the caddy had mentioned "You should be on the LPGA Tour, you are certainly good enough." he broached the subject and in doing so Leah and Lexa froze momentarily as the sisters gave each other a strange look mixed with embarrassment and anger.
Lexa took in a deep, calming breath and she turned and said to Xation "Oh, I was on the tour for a little while." she confessed with no pride or joy in her statement.
"What happened?" Xation said trying to pry into her personal life, with all the tenacity of a shark bite.
Leah stepped back turning her attention on her ball as she tried to make a 13 foot putt. Lexa slid her sunglasses down her nose glancing over at Xation with her green eyes filled with a flash of deep disappointment "Well Xation, what can I say? Sometimes things do not always turn out like we would anticipate. Right? Well, maybe for everyone, except for you, Mr. Xation Day. Why I bet everything in your, charmed, life has always turned up aces for you." here with Lexa's look, and comment, Xation felt a chill go up and down the length of his spine, remembering many times when he had been shocked and horrified by his own actions and the terrible things he had seen
"No, Lexa, that is where you are wrong and very much mistaken." Now Xation did not elaborate, but whatever Xation was thinking about, from his past, only served to knock the wind out of his sails and for just a brief moment Charles actually felt sorry for him.
Moving on they got it up and down quickly, and at the finishing hole, #2, Charles was the last one to take his swing but it was just a little too far to the left and Charles buried his ball in one of the five small, circular sand traps, that surround the greens like a rare strand of pearls. He took a short swing with his wedge but could not get the ball up and out onto the green so Lexa gave him a little assistance. "Charles, I need you to do just two things for me, okay, imagine there is a tee under the ball, and open up the club face of your sand wedge. Then knock that tee out of the sand for me."
Here a rumble came from his stomach and Charles said "Mmm, open club face sandwich."
"Are you getting hungry?" Lexa laughed to which Charles shook his head yes. "Last hole and then we'll get some lunch."
Charles did as Lexa instructed and with that his golf ball popped up out of the sand and rolled on to the green for 7 feet and caught the right angle on the slope of the green and his ball sank down into the cup with the familiar sound Charles loved to hear. And with that the first, of many, golf matches they all would have together over the next few years was concluded with Lexa beating everyone with a round of 69, Leah shot a 76, Xation shot a 74 and Charles shot a 78, not bad, but with out Lexa's help Charles would have most likely shot an 89 or higher. But with a score of 147 to 150, it was Lexa and Charles who were the victors out on the course that day. They turned in their score cards at the pro-shop, and Old Gregg was still there, happy to see the sheer look of delight on the men's faces and Xation and Charles shook his hand repeatedly thanking him for putting them out on the course with the gorgeous blonds. Then, making their way over to the clubhouse, they grabbed a table out on the patio, overlooking the ocean and the rose gardens, flanked by towering date palms which were swaying in the ocean breeze. Lexa stopped in the bar, eagerly extolling her virtue to the patrons at the bar, telling of her incredible hole-in-one on the 10th hole, then she had the bartender send out 30 chilled shots of Patron tequila to everyone at the bar, along with her group, and they all toasted to Lexa with an uproarious cheer for the pretty lady. Charles was delighted how freely and easily Lexa spoke to the room full of strangers, with great confidence, commanding the room and every one's attention with her bright smile, cheerful laughs, witty remarks and knowledge of the ancient game. Lexa's personality was just as outgoing and effervescent as she was beautiful and intelligent, Charles felt himself being drawn in by her mischievous smiles, bright eyes and the mysterious way she had about her, like a well guarded secret, a hidden riddle of the universe that only she knew the answer to.
Out on the patio the four ordered up a nice lunch, Charles and Leah had cheeseburgers and fries with some cold beers while Xation and Leah had a healthy, grilled Ahi tuna salad in a raspberry vinaigrette dressing, with a bottle of expensive, chilled champagne. Xation and Charles were absolutely thrilled and delighted with the twins company and so they sat at the table over a delicious meal chatting more easily with one another now that they were face to face, relaxed not having to worry about yardage or sand traps and water hazards out on the course.
They were extremely impressed by Xation, his position and vast wealth, and Charles could not blame them, for his friend was a multi-millionaire, in charge of a huge fortune from his family's old money and his financial genius, creating his own empire, living as he wished, answering only to God. As for what they learned about Charles, of course, most everything he told them was a lie, but since he had been living under an assumed identity he had become well practiced at the art of deception. Though, Charles did tell them the truth, how he worked for Xation serving as the family's private physician on their Estate for over a year, telling them he seldom had a chance to go back home to the U.S.A, working down in Argentina. Then Charles confessed he dearly missed his American compatriots, and he told the twins how delighted he was to get to know them during his brief stay on the islands.
They learned a great many things about each other that day sharing their first meal together, the girls were graduates of the University of Southern California, class of  '85, they each had a degree in journalism. Leah was a free-lance writer for Conde-Nast, the ultimate, elite travel magazine, Lexa had taken her winnings, and apparently a vast some of wealth she and Leah had inherited from their grandfather, traveling around doing as she pleased. For the Hale twins came from a wealthy family, residing in a mansion built on the cliffs in San Diego, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Their father owned a heavy equipment manufacturing firm that supplied the rigs and machinery needed to drill for oil and natural gas, whereas their mother spent her leisure time at the country club, playing golf and tennis, and she was on the board of several local charities. Charles asked Lexa what her dream in life was and she told him, along with Xation, all she wanted to do for the rest of her life was to play every golf course on the face of the earth before she died.
Xation sat up in his chair telling Lexa "Well, they will never you let you play at Augusta, women are not allowed."
Lexa balked at his statement telling Xation "Augusta.., I've played it.., and they do allow women to play,  by invitation only." she said as if to say 'so there', then Lexa pushed what remained of her burger away from her as she glanced over at Charles saying "So, what are you two boys up to tonight?" but before they could even open their mouths to reply Lexa continued "Why don't you both meet us up at our hotel, around 9:00 p.m., for dinner and a few drinks.., we can see what comes up." Lexa said as Charles noticed she was staring down at his crotch when she said the word 'up'.
"Yes, we will come." Charles said wishing he had used a better choice of words, a blush coming to his face when he thought of the word 'come'.
"Are you staying at this hotel?" Xation asked leaning over to Leah whom he was slowly, but surely, becoming deeply infatuated with.
"No." Leah said as she reached out holding Xation's hand "We are staying up the mountain, at the Lodge at Koele, and I have to tell you Xation, it is one of THE most exquisite hotels we have ever stayed in." she said, her eyes widening, telling him "You have to come and see, the view from my bedroom is breathtaking!"
"Well, then I can not wait until I see you again, 9' o'clock it is." Xation said giving her a little kiss on the back of her hand, his heart racing with the thought of ravishing this lively creature in her bed tonight.

Chapter 16 continues

Xation teed-up out of the blue tee box; which they all agreed to play from to make it fair on everyone, everyone except for poor Charles who really needed to be hitting off the red tees. Now he had a nice short game, but he could not drive the ball very far, or straight. Xation made his shot, a nice 285 yarder, with the all the acumen of an athlete who had been playing over 10 years, for Xation began at the age of 19 after he was banned from the World Polo Association for life, dangerous horsemanship and crippling a young, teen- aged, skilled rider during a match will usually get you ousted from all the polo leagues from Argentina to Australia.
Now everyone waited before heading down the fairway for Charles to tee it up, and Lexa, who had been playing golf with her family since she was 7 years old, on the course at Torrey Pines near her home in San Diego, knew a nervous player when she saw one. So Lexa watched, with a well trained eye, Charles making a few crucial mistakes in his swing, sending the ball hooking off to the left out into the rough about 100 yards down the tree-lined fairway. Lexa and Leah did not say anything, nor did they react in any way, shape, or form as to be respectful of Dr. Charles Le Mesa, other than to walk off the tee box together with their pink and white golf bags slung over their backs with Xation and Charles walking at a slower pace watching the tall blonds head out in front of them.
"Sorry Xation, I am so nervous!" Charles said quietly under his breath.
"Do not be nervous, my friend, just relax, take a deep breath, have a good time and everything will be fine." Xation assured him, not worried in the least about Charles and his horrible game.
So they proceeded in their impromptu match, the girls against the boys, but by the 6th hole, just three holes later, as Leah was about to tee off on a nasty par five; which wrapped around the green hillside surrounded by a thick mass of fragrant rose bushes, Lexa looked at her watch, a platinum ladies Presidential Rolex, and with a tone of frustration she said "No, stop!" Lexa said as she stood and faced the group directing her next comment to Charles "Listen, there is only one thing I can not abide by on the golf course, and that is slow play. Now.., no offense, Charles, but I think you need just a wee bit of instruction out here today." Charles looked mortified but when Lexa finished her little speech by saying "Okay, so this is what is going to happen now. Leah, I want you and Xation to pair up against me and and Dr. Charles. I want to teach him a few things." Lexa smiled and then she said in a very complimentary way telling Charles "You were built for the game of golf my friend, and there is no reason why you can not hit the ball 300 yards off the tee, with your strength and stature, what are ya' 6.1?"
"Yes." Charles said a little shyly as Lexa eyed him up and down rubbing his arm causing his pulse to quicken.
"And with your broad shoulders, and strong back and muscular arms and..," here Lexas paused as she ran her right hand over his stomach "with these rock hard abs, you have the core of a Spartan warrior!" Lexa smiled her eyes still hidden behind her dark sunglasses. "However..," she smiled using that most hated word. "there are just a few mistakes I have noticed you make on your drive, now you have an excellent short game, but you are losing strokes on distance and I want to help you. Charles," she paused and with a serious tone in her voice she made the following statement "I believe God has sent me here to help you today. Will you let me help you?" she asked in a voice so sweet and kind. So Charles stopped thinking, and started nodding his head. Xation and Leah gave each other a satisfied look, happy to be matched up together so they could get to know one another better. For though these girls were identical, Xation preferred Leah's personality over Leah, for Leah seemed a little more reserve and submissive than her sister Lexa, who was a little too bawdy and aggressive for Xation's taste, but as for Charles a tall, beautiful, aggressive woman was just his game.
Leah teed-up, followed by Xation and that left Charles alone with Lexa, who moved him up to the white tee box, then his instruction from a World Class Golfer began. "First thing,  you have your left foot too close to the tee, center your body up, back over it." Charles shifted his body "Now you have a nice form in your swing stance, but you lose speed because you keep lifting up on your left toe in the back swing, keep both feet planted firmly to the ground, use your back, right foot to press down in the ground so you can maintain your swing speed as your spine rotates around." Charles practiced this and he could feel the power by pushing off his right foot as he ended up in a nice reverse C formation. "Good!" Lexas smiled hearing the familiar sound of the whoosh of a well swung club "Now, you keep hooking and slicing because you are not rotating your hips all the way." here she stood in front of Charles, her hands touching his pelvis as she swiveled his hips a little more to the left, she was so close to him that Charles felt the overwhelming urge to drop his club and wrap his arms around her, among other things he wanted to do to her. "See just like that, your belt buckle should always be pointing directly at the flag, and that is why you should always wear a belt out here." here Lexa stared at his waist, her eyes glancing down at his crotch hidden by his white cotton slacks. "So today use the logo on your shirt, when you come out of the swing make sure the little shark is pointing towards the flag."
"Is there anything else you would like to teach me?" Charles asked soft and subtly.
"That's all.., for now." Lexa smiled. 'Are you ready?"
"Ladies first." Charles stepped back as Lexa teed it up, making quick work of another dead solid perfect shot.
Next Charles stepped up remembering all the words she said but before he took his first shot under her instruction he turned to Lexa, saying "Could you do me one favor Miss Lexa?"
"What would you like?" she turned wondering what the handsome doctor would say.
"Can you take off your shades. I know I have only just met you, but I am just dying to see your eyes." Charles said standing a little closer to the gorgeous blond.
     "Why?" she sad seductively.
"I wonder.., what color they are." he confessed not concerned with being shy.
"What color do you think they are?" Lexa replied.
     "Green?" Charles answered.
"Why you must E.S.P." Lexa said as she slowly slipped her black Ray-Bans off revealing the most amazing set of emerald eyes with tiny flecks of gold surrounding the pupil 'star of genius' as this was called, Charles had ever seen, and now with her sunglasses removed he could see just how beautiful she truly was with an oval shaped face, classic features, high cheek bones, smooth supple, glowing, sun-kissed skin, barely a trace of make up, save for a little black eyeliner and mascara, a bit blush and pink gloss on her full, moist lips, lips Charles wished desperately to kiss. Now, as if reading his thoughts, or seeing the longing in his eyes, the 5ft 10 in Lexa lifted her chin up slightly, tilting her head, giving Charles a sweet little kiss telling him "For luck."
With this little thrill in his heart and a stirring energy filling his entire body like electricity, his mind went blank as Charles drew back his 1 wood back, feet firmly planted on the ground, left arm straight, a hinge of the wrists, with a whoosh and SMASH! The ball went sailing up high in the air on a huge arc that landed about 323 yards off the tee box. Xation and Leah turned at the sound of the sweet spot coming into contact with the ball and they were absolutely amazed Charles did so well after a few minutes of instruction, alone with Lexa. Now Leah doubted Lexa could be that good of a teacher so she remarked to Xation telling him she thought Charles was just faking being a horrible player just to get Lexa to help him. Xation said nothing, but did not discourage Leah from thinking this was the truth. Back on the tee box they could hear Charles and Lexa let out a loud cheer of his success and Xation was delighted he and Charles had the rest of the afternoon to get know these fine, young, healthy and sexy American girls, but he had know idea just how well he would get to know these ladies, nor did Charles know what the rest of the day would have in store  for them all.

Chapter 16 begins

There they were, two gorgeous, tall women in little golf skirts, and white sleeveless Izod shirts covering their ample breasts with long, silken, golden hair pulled through their golf hats cascading in a ponytail down to their tiny waists. The two, who looked identical, save for the color of their plaid short skirts, were bending over, side to side, doing lateral stretches holding a golf club high over their heads. Their long, well-toned, deeply tanned legs, shimmered in the morning sun, their skin looked polished and positively glowing, radiating a look of optimum health and well being, as they did a few exercises to warm up the muscles of their firm backsides. Charles and Xation were in awe of these two young lasses surround by the beautiful ocean, amid the pines and kiawe trees, their long, blond ponytails being lifted and gently blown by the tropical breeze over their supple shoulders and thin, muscular arms.
"Hot! Damn!" Charles exclaimed as Xation quickly asked the caddies if they knew who these glorious creatures were.
"Those are the Hale twins, from California. They have been coming here with their family for at least 10 years, since they were little." he explained, even though as a caddy he was forbidden from disclosing any information about any of the club members.
"How old are they?" Charles asked before Xation had a chance.
"Oh, I'd say they are, at least, in their late 20's." the caddy answered bringing the cart to a stop, as the women turned to see whom it was they were to be paired up with for the day. Now when Lexa and Leah saw the two extremely, attractive gentlemen sitting in the golf cart the young ladies mood improved drastically. For, though these two sisters were identical in every way, except for their fingerprints, and personalities, they had completely different taste in men. Leah preferred Latin men who were tall, dark-eyed and virile, and her twin sister, Lexa, much preferred the Nordic look: tall, athletic, blue-eyed, blond. Happily for the sisters these two, fine specimens of the human male were just their game. "The one called Lexa..," the caddy whispered "was on the LPGA tour, until..," here the gossiping caddy felt bad for talking about the gorgeous woman behind her back so he concluded his story by saying "well, perhaps I should keep quiet, if Miss Lexa wishes to tell you herself, that would be much better."
"Hello there!" Lexa called over to them as the men got out of the golf cart and went to shake hands with the stunning California girls, whose eyes were hidden behind their black Ray-Ban's, a white Foot Joy golf glove on their left hands.
"Good morning!" Xation said with great excitement, a nervous energy filling both he and Charles, a rush of blood flushing their face, amongst other areas of the men's bodies, as they reached out and shook hands with the Hale twins of, apparently, some renown and wealth.
Now, as Xation reached out with his left hand introducing himself, Leah could feel the dark eyed Mr.Xation Day rubbing the ring finger of her left hand and she laughed saying before introducing herself "Why Mr.Day? Are you trying to feel if I have a wedding ring on on my finger?" she smiled slyly.
"Yes." Xation confessed with a smile, laughing along with her "I was only wondering, so I am not disrespectful to a married woman."
"Well, as you can feel I am not wearing a wedding ring." she answered not really giving him the information he required.
"No." her sister answered turning her gaze from the tall, blue-eyed blond, with strong shoulders and moist pink lips to the dark-eyed handsome stranger "I, nor my sister, are married. We are both, completely, single Mr.Day. So feel free to be as disrespectful as you like." Lexa said with a bit of bemused cheer to her voice, here she looked up and with a bright, perfect smile turning her attention back to Charles, "My name is Lexa, Lexa Hale, and this is my twin sister Leah. And I know I can freely speak for both of us when I say, thank you for coming out to play with us today!"
"This is my good friend Dr. Charles Le Mesa." Xation said introducing Charles, extremely happy it was Charles, and not the large and ungainly Mr.Pruce, there with him that day. "We have journeyed all the way up, from Buenos Aires to accompany you two fine ladies out on the links today,." he smiled giving Lexa and Leah a wink, adding "That is, of course, if you will be kind enough to have us." Xation said laying on the charm, using his wit and intelligence to impress the women, as all good fellows should know how to do. Now our Charles had an endless amount of charm, wit and intelligence, but now he was worried about being unable to impress theses stunning California girls with his golf game. Things were just made worse for him when Xation asked the pretty ladies where their caddies and golf carts were; to which Lexa and Leah replied they had been playing on this course since they were 14, some 15 years in total, and they knew the course so well they required neither caddy nor golf cart, preferring to walk the course, to keep in shape and enjoy nature. They were classic American beauties. Now this is when Xation went over to the caddies, they had selected for the day, giving them each a hundred dollars to leave the golf bags and drive away. Charles was horrified as his only chance at coming close to par disappeared around the cart path past the oleander bushes. So, frustrated, Charles went over to Xation whispering in his ear something the women could not hear.
"Now.., are you sure you want to do that, get rid of your caddies? This can be a tricky course ?" Lexa said shocked by Xation's decision "Because I can assure you both, incredibly handsome and delightful though you both may be, neither one of you will get any help out there from my sister or me."
"We will be fine, I can assure you, we know a thing or two about golf, but we have not come here to win, but to just relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery." Xation said watching Leah bend over teeing up her Titlest pro-v 1.
'Speak for yourself!' Charles screamed in his head his heart and mind filling with dread.
"So whose ready for a great day of golf? Boys against the girls then." Leah said as she stood in the blue tee box a 360cc, 1 wood, a Big Bertha by Taylor Made in her interlocked grip as she addressed the ball, making three practice swings before she snapped the club back quickly, her left arm perfectly straight as she hinged her wrists, bringing the club parallel to her strong shoulders as she released her tightly coiled torso back in a flash with a swing speed of at least 98 mph, making direct contact, with a smash of the ball, off the sweet spot, sending the ball shooting off in a high arc, on straight line at least 190 yards. Next came Lexa who hit the ball so hard and so far and so straight she damn near made a hole in one! Xation and Charles were extremely impressed and turned on at the same time {though Charles wished desperately to have his caddy back when he saw these to fierce golfers, from San Diego, whip the ball off the tee and get it up and down so easily on the fairway}. Xation and Charles were so amazed by the strength and confidence in the ladies swing they were utterly impressed, for they knew, a woman that can hit a ball of a tee with such force and precision is like finding a dog that speaks, very rare. A woman who can hit a ball of a tee with such force and precision and also be mistaken for a Playboy model, was like finding a dog that speaks Portuguese, even rarer.

End Chapter 15

It was very early the next morning, after a nice breakfast from room service, Charles and Xation made their way from the hotel down to the pier, to the south, to catch the ferry to Lanai. They had to keep the top up on the little red corvette as a mist of clouds and light rain had swept in over the island from the ocean, and it was a little chilly, just before sunrise, when Charles complained about the weather to Xation, who happily explained to his friend, the clouds would soon burn off in the morning sunshine and all would be well for their golf adventure. Such is the climate as anyone knows who lives beside the ocean.
As they parked the rental car on the ferry Charles and Xation made their way up on deck to get a better view of the surroundings. Charles stood, leaning against the railing, as he noticed a group of dolphins below him in the water, swimming at a fast pace keeping up with the large vessel. The scent in the air was strong of salt water and fresh ocean wind; which seemed to be blowing in from all directions here out on the open waters, as they grew ever closer to the spectacular island of Lanai, with it's steep red lava cliffs covered in bright green grass, plants, trees and various tropical vines and vegetation. This island was much smaller, and higher in elevation, than Maui, only 13 miles wide and 18 miles long, home of the Dole Pineapple plantation, 36 resorts, 2 Four Season Hotels, a small airport amid forests of pines and kiawe trees, full of millions of myna birds and secluded herds of deer. Charles stared up the imposing high cliffs of the island and Xation clearly saw Charles was wide-eyed and mystified by this remarkable sight of nature. Just as they drove off the ferry and up the long switch-back roads; which led up to Lanai city, the Four Season Resort and the Challenge at Manele Bay, the sun broke through the thin grey clouds and the light mists of rain abated as the two men pulled up to the spectacular course; which was situated high above the waters, perched atop the red lava cliffs overlooking the vast bright blue ocean and the island of Maui to the east.
"My God would you look at this!" Charles said as he gazed around the property with it's magnificent hotel and breathtaking ocean side, 18 hole, par 72, Jack Nicklaus designed course with over 7,000 yards of pure excitement overlooking Hulopoe Bay.
"This is a monster of a course Charles, if we are going to tee it up here today we need to bring a lot of game and a lot of balls!" Xation laughed his statement was both literal and figurative.
The two valeted the convertible at the Clubhouse and were driven over to the Pro-Shop by a friendly member of staff who gave them the yardages off the black, gold, blue, white and red tee boxes. As Charles noticed the treacherous carries over deep ravines, Charles thought he should really be playing from the red tees, to even stand a chance, but that would be extremely humiliating since the red tees were for girls and old men. Putting his slow swing-speed at the back of his mind, Charles and Xation made their way into the busy Pro-Shop, where they were informed, much to their disappointment, by the white haired Golf Pro behind the counter that, 'due to the amount of people on the islands for the upcoming PGA event', they were doing shot-gun starts and would needed to be paired up to make their tee time of 8:45. It was the same story back at the Plantation Course yesterday. Xation and Charles gave each other a disillusioned look.
"Why the long face fellas?" Gregg, the aged Pro, asked sensing there was a story here.
Xation and Charles quickly lamented the previous days turmoil and trouble with the Germans to the sympathetic man, and old Gregg took pity on them, then with a mischievous smile, a twinkle in his blue eyes, he looked down at the roster and with a sly laugh he said "Gentlemen, I think you will be most pleased when you see who you will be making the rounds with today." he shook his head and called over to one of the caddies "Take them to get matched up with a caddy, then drive them over to hole #3." with that he turned his attention back to Xation and Charles telling them "Now if you boys do NOT have a good time out their today, you just let know and I will personally take care of your green fees."
Xation and Charles felt like old Gregg was up to something, but they both were imbued with a certain strange energy of excitement as they headed out to pick out their caddies and make their way over to the third hole, an easy par three with a wide open green. As they both wondered who they would be paired up with today Xation and Charles looked out on the blue tee box, and when they saw who it was, their mouths dropped wide open when they discovered just whom it was waiting for them to tee off.
"Jesus! Lord in Heaven! Is that who we are playing with today?" Charles asked his caddy.
"Oh yes!" his caddy said with great enthusiasm "God bless that man! Old Gregg took GOOD care of us all today!"

Chapter 15 continues

A short while later the little jet descended to a safe and stable landing at the Kahului airport on the northern part of Maui. Charles and Xation stepped out onto the tarmac to a beautiful tranquil day there in paradise, the bright sunshine warming their face as they felt the weight of any problems they had in their life dissolve away like salt in hot water, and for the first time Charles felt like he was home. Though he had never been to the Hawaiian Islands, this was still a part of the United States of America, and with his fake passport he breezed through the little customs office with Xation without delay. With this behind them Xation picked up his rented car, a brand new, bright red '92, fully loaded convertible Corvette Sports Coupe, with it's 350 cubic inch, 300 horsepower engine, equipped with Slip Regulation Traction Control, and this reminded Charles of his old friend Azir, who loved his prized '69 Vette, Charles wondered, momentarily, how the crafty Indian fellow was faring in prison, but as Charles tossed in his suitcase and expensive set of Ping golf clubs into the trunk he realized, after everything he had been through, he really did not care about Azir anymore, nor did he care about his past, for Charles only ever wanted to live in the moment, to now be here, and to be here now.
The two drove off from the airport, south on Route 30 down past the many sugar cane plantations and native forests through the little fishing villages along the southern coast. They had the top down, wind in their hair and the sun shining down from a clear blue sky, the radio tuned to the local Classic Rock station, Soul Kitchen, by the Doors playing through the speakers. Charles marveled at the millions of lush, green sugar cane plants, over twenty tall, all in perfect lines, for miles up the face of the ancient volcano; which had gone extinct to allow the lush vegetation to thrive for thousands upon thousands of years. Now this stupendous sight was to his right and to the left, as the road wrapped around the coastline, Charles saw the massive expanse of the mighty Pacific Ocean, the water so bright and blue, like no other color of blue he had ever seen in his life, not like the waters of California or Aruba. The 'Muai Blue' waters crashing out into a thick foam on the white sugar-sand beaches with massive black boulders of basalt in the form of small columns dotting the shore. Charles turned his gaze to Xation who was tapping his thumb on the steering wheel along with the music, a smile of true happiness on his face, and he radiate warmth and joy with just a smile. Charles said with a grin "Why Xation, I have never seen you so relaxed."
Xation laughed with great cheer and he said "Here on Maui, the weight of the World will rise up off your shoulders and vanish into the clear blue sky!"
A far too short drive back up north led the two travelers past the magnificent Plantation Course up to the Ritz-Carlton at Kapalua where they were greeted by two beautiful Polynesian women at the front desk and the friendly women were kind and courteous, and the two men felt so relaxed and at ease chatting and flirting with the young Hawaiian lasses. The bell-boy took Charles and Xation up to his usual corner suite, with a large patio overlooking the golf course and the islands of Molokai, to north, and the smaller island of Lanai, to the south. Charles and Xation stood for a moment in pure, perfect silence, only the sounds of the roaring ocean off in the distance, the warm tropical wind gently rustling the palm leaves and the sweet sound of the Hawaiian song birds in the fragrant pine and eucalyptus trees bordering the shoreline.
"Well my friend, shall we go and see about our tee-time?" Xation said giving Charles a firm slap on the shoulder.
"Yes, but.., I just hope I don't embarrass you out on the course. I am no where near as good as you are Xation." Charles confessed with his current handicap of 21.
"Listen  Charles, when it comes to the great game of Golf, there is only one thing you must make clear in your mind. We are just out here to have fun and enjoy our time in Mother Nature in all her resplendent glory. So no cell-phones, or cursing, or breaking of any clubs." Xation laughed remembering a time, or two, when Charles had become so frustrated he had a few 'outbursts'. "The great thing about golf is you can always pick up your ball and take a triple bogey." Xation laughed along with Charles.
The two went to their respective rooms and hurried to change into their golf attire, Xation in his white FootJoys, with matching white crocodile belt, and white hat with the Callaway logo emblazoned upon it in black; which matched his black pants and black golf shirt, whereas Charles opted for a pair of white pants and a green shirt with black golf shoes and no belt and soon they were on their way to the Pro-Shop at the Plantation Course adjacent to the posh hotel. They were so looking forward to this beautiful round that beautiful day, a little after one in the afternoon at a golfers dream course. However, due to the huge amount of people on the island for the upcoming PGA event, they were paired with two Germans, who were incredible golfers and were making Xation and Charles look incredibly bad out on the links, and the fact that they duo barely could speak English did not help matters any. Now one of them spoke French a tongue familiar to Xation, but any conversation had to go from French to English, just so Charles could understand what they were saying, though Xation could not translate some of the rude remarks they were making in their native language, about Charles and his swing, or lack thereof. This was not conducive to a nice tranquil day out on the greens, so when they turned, to head out to the back nine, Xation and Charles decided to just end their day and make their way to the Club House for a nice lobster dinner and pitcher of dry martinis. The vodka helped Charles to forget about the score of 56 he just had, compared to Xation's 39 and, though they may not have enjoyed the company of 'our German cousins', Xation and Charles did enjoy the breathtaking scenery and recalled, over dinner, the pod of whales they saw jumping high up out of the water down by the shore and Xation's incredible eagle on the par 4, hole #3.
Xation and Charles sat at their ocean view table on the balcony of the Club House eating their fill of fresh fish and perfectly cooked lobster, drinking one too many pitchers of the strong alcohol. "Well, I could not possibly eat any thing more, I am about to burst!" Xation said pushing his chair, and himself, away from the table as he tried to pay the bill, but Charles would not here of it so he paid the outrageously expensive bill. This he did happily, continuously thanking Xation for bringing him along. Xation did admit to himself that he did enjoy Charles' company a little more than he liked hanging out with Bengiman. Even though he owed everything he had to Bengiman's loyalty to him. It was true he was a very simple man, of common birth and little education, but Xation knew his dear, old friend may not be able to carry on a lengthy, intelligent conversation, but Bengiman Pruce was always good for a laugh and a good time. Here Xation hoped his close friend was following doctor's orders and healing quickly from his nasty double ear infection. Putting this far from his mind Xation looked over at Charles saying "Now let's stagger over to the hotel, I don't think we are able to drive a golf cart right now, and besides." Xation paused letting out a hellacious burp as they stepped outside, as the sun began to set and the air grew a little chilly as night fell upon Maui. "Excuse me!" he said with an embarrassed laugh "We have to get up early in the morning to catch the ferry over to Lanai." Xation said pointing out across the water to the island to the south.
"All I want to do is take a nice, long hot shower and then wrap up in my warm bathrobe, climb in my bed and go to sleep!" Charles said with a yawn and a stretch as they walked across the lawn lugging their heavy golf bags on their shoulders. Just then a caddy drove up on his way to locking up his golf cart, and he ushered the two tired men into the cart helping them with their bags and driving them the 100 yards to the lobby. This young man's gracious hospitality was rewarded with 2, crisp one hundred dollar bills by a most grateful Xation Day.
"Enjoy your stay on Maui!" the pleasantly surprised young man shouted as he drove away.

Chapter 15 begins

Now, the next morning, Charles was feeling a bit nervous and anxious about the six hour flight over the Pacific Ocean in the tiny Lear jet, so he took 2 vicodin before a light breakfast of eggs and toast then, just before he and Xation boarded the plane, Charles took 2 more vicodin to ease his tension and stress. This was unfortunate, for Xation sensed Charles was always very apprehensive, on any flight they took, so he had a bottle of whiskey at the ready. Just after a smooth take-off from the private landing strip of the Estate, Xation poured a tall glass of the strong amber liquid over a few cubes of ice for his friend who was on edge.Charles should not have imbibed, but he did, and a short while later, as Xation was talking about some new real estate development in Buenos Aires, Charles leaned his head back on the seat closing his eyes drifting off to sleep. Xation did not mind for he had some files to go over and documents to sign and he used this time to get a little work done, before he was officially on vacation for the next week.
Charles opened his eyes, to what to him was just seconds later, but he was shocked to find he had been asleep for over three hours, Xation only laughed at him, asking if he wanted another glass of whiskey; to which Charles only shook his head no, opting for a small bottle of cold Pierre instead. "I'm sorry Xation." Charles apologized with a yawn feeling very relaxed now 20,000 feet above the Earth, though Charles tried not to look out the little cabin window, of which he pulled the down the shade. Then he turned to Xation, who was sitting in the row of seats next to him, then Charles confided in him. "You've probably noticed I don't do so well on flights."
"Yes.., but you will get over it, sooner or later." Xation replied with a confident look and a gentle smile then he let out a sigh and opened up to Charles telling him "I know about your parents, the terrible accident."
Charles was shocked, for he knew Xation knew a lot about his life back in Chicago, and he did not realize how far back Xation's research on him went. "Oh." was all Charles could answer his face drained of all color and he looked like he might faint for a moment.
"I know a great many things about you my friend, that is my nature. I did not want to bring up this tragedy until you did, but I think we should just get it out in the open, so I may offer you my deepest condolences to you for your most grievous loss. I myself would be lost without my mother and father." Xation confessed.
Charles said nothing only thinking about what Xation had said, 'he would be lost', and that is exactly what Charles had become and he knew for a long time that this fact was true. For Charles was utterly, and completely, devastated by the horrific events of that Friday late in May, and at the tender age of 21 he had become virtually all alone and lost, in a cruel and lonely world. This is what, perhaps, caused him to make all the wrong decisions, to become neglectful in his work, sending too many patients to an early grave because of his mistakes. Then Charles realized his penchant for vicodin began a few months after his parents lost their lives on a charred field 8 miles from O'Hare international airport. Then he thought of a line from a poem he remembered from a long time ago. 'The past in it's grave, though it's ghosts still haunt me.'
Xation could see a sad melancholy had come over Charles so he apologized for mentioning it and tried to change the subject so he asked Charles. "So, I take it you have never been to Hawaii?"
"No, but I am looking forward to getting there." then a pressing thought came to Charles so he put all sad memories of the loss of his beloved mother and father at the back of his mind, and so he said to Xation "You know.., I would like to talk to you about Serena."
"What about her?" Xation asked a little worried, but happy to be talking about something else beside the fiery plane crash.
"I'm worried about her." Charles said with the concerned look of a friend.
"How so in that?" Xation replied thinking the worst possible scenario "Is she pregnant?" he said almost in a whisper, though there was no one else aboard, save the captain and his co-pilot.
"No!" Charles reassured him "She has put on so much weight over the past month, and she has been so depressed, Serena has been trying to get me to prescribe her diet pills."
"Have you?" Xation asked a little upset by this.
"No!" Charles answered truthfully "I told her eat less and exercise more."
Xation shook his head and said "Serena has been mourning for Humberto, it has been just over a year since he was killed in the riding accident. And Hays, whom she adores, has been up in Dallas running the new office in Texas. She misses Hays very much.., but until his divorce is final I do not want them to be associating with one another.., it is bad for business." Xation explained, but Charles needed no explanation. Now it was Xation who felt uncomfortable, so he quickly changed the subject "This is enough talk of our families, now is the time for us to celebrate and enjoy our lives! Just let me tell you about what is planned for our trip.
Charles turned in his seat, facing Xation as he eagerly, with great enthusiasm told him about their adventure which would soon begin "We are staying at the Ritz Carlton at Kapalua, on the north shore of Maui with views of the neighboring islands of Molokai to the west and Lanai to the south west. I have booked us a tee-time for about an hour after we check into our suite. Now Charles, the Plantation Course has got to be the best golf course of all the Hawaiian islands! It is a magnificent tree lined ocean course, with wide open greens so you really get a chance to run the ball. There is a lot of change in elevation off the tees and there are some tricky ocean winds down by the shore. And now is the time, in Hawaii, when the Humpback whales come down from the cold winter waters of the Pacific Northwest and you will see dozens of the huge creatures jumping up out of the bright blue waters along with Spinnaker dolphins frolicking off the coastline! We are going to have an amazing time of it!" Xation said a feeling of elation sweeping over him as he remembered all the fun times he and Bengiman had on previous excursions to the island paradise. "And then there is tomorrow!"
"What happens tomorrow?" Charles asked as the excitement began to spread in his heart as well.
"We have to get up bright and early. I will rent a convertible and we will catch the ferry over to Lanai. I want to try out the Course at Manele Bay. Bengiman and I were scheduled for a round there last year but, unfortunately, that morning we had to leave early because of what happened to Felina..," here he paused thinking of that morning last year when he listened to the voicemail messages Felina had sent but that he had missed. However Xation would not allow himself to be distracted from his present state of happiness by the pain and distress from the past, so he went right back to his subject. "God, Charles, Lanai is the most exclusive island for the world's 'golf' elite and I can not wait to get off this fucking plane and check into our hotel." Xation looked at his watch and said "Just about an hour to go until we land and soon we will be teeing off on the first hole at the Plantation Course in no time!"

End Chapter 14

Now at the end of November, the beginning of December, the World Polo Association gather in Buenos Aires for the greatest polo matches of the season. The wealthy, elite families come from all over the globe to overrun the city and Felina brought her family too. She had several students, and former students, of her prestigious riding academy competing in the games. Charles felt honored when Felina invited him to be her escort for the week long events, she treated him like an honored member of the family and they all came down from the Estate to celebrate, as they had for the last fifteen years. There was Serena, Bengiman, Aphina, Carlo, and his parents came over from Spain. Everyone was there, except for Xation and no one would quite explain to Charles why Xation, who played polo for ten years, before and during college, and still had the cups and trophies to prove just how good he was at it, had no interest, whatsoever, in the world of polo any longer, but then again there were a great many secrets being kept from our poor, unknowing Charles.
After the whirlwind of parties and polo matches, and thousands of crates of champagne had been emptied over that week by the socialites and social climbers, it was nearing Christmastime in Argentina, though for Charles, with this being the beginning of a sweltering summer in South America, it was strange to see Christmas lights and decorations in the city amongst the palm trees on a 95 degree day. This holiday was very special in the hearts of the Diaz family, like all good people, but Aphina made a huge splurge of her wealth by lavishing gifts upon her friends, family and staff; and Charles was all three of these things to Aphina and her family. So it was early on a sunny Christmas morning Charles was thrilled to find a set of keys to a brand new, silver Bugatti EB 110 SS. Aphina and Carlo had purchased the luxury sport car as a token of their appreciation of Charles for having saved the life of their cherished daughter. To them it was an overly expensive gesture, but to Charles it was a deep show of love and respect to him, in the form of a sleek, exquisitely designed chaise, with a chrome horse-shoe shaped grill and an aluminium body, with a 3.5 liter V12, 550 horse powered engine that could do 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. Charles found this out first hand when he and Carlo went for a spin down the long country lanes. This was, for Charles, the best Christmas ever, he only wished it was his father, Daniel, sitting next to him and not Xation's father. Carlo sensed this, but he loved Charles like his own son just the same.
Now, a few days after Christmas, when Xation and Charles had returned from a spin around the country side in his new sports car, after listening to Xation go on about how excited he was for his trip, {yet, another vacation Charles was not invited on}to Maui with Bengiman for the 1st PGA tournament the year, the two friends found the family, along with Bengiman, gathered 'round the table together just as they sat down to dinner. Charles and Xation were famished so they tucked in, slicing away at their rib-eyes and this is when everyone noticed Bengiman was just sitting there sipping his whiskey, not eating one bite of his food; which was strange for he usually ate two or three steaks in one sitting just fill his rapacious appetite to sate the stomach of his 6 ft 5 in., 260 lb frame.
"Bengiman? You do not look so well, are you feeling ill?" Aphina asked with great concern.
"No..," he paused, looking pale and sickly, as he rubbed his throat. "I've not been feeling to keen."
Charles looked up and over at Bengiman not as a family friend but a patient. "Let's have a look." he said as he arose from his seat to see what was the matter.
Bengiman brushed his hands away as Charles stood beside him at the dinner table trying to feel his throat. "Get off!" he shouted.
"Bengiman!" Xation said curtly "Get up and go to the gatehouse with Charles, let him have a look at you in his office, that is what he is here for! I need you well for our trip, we take-off in the morning." Xation said unnerved at the thought of missing another New Year's trip to Maui to see Lee Trevino and Seve Ballesteros play. Xation was also upset that Bengiman had not gone to see Charles sooner when he first started to fell unwell.
"I just need to go and have a lie down." Bengiman protested swearing he would not miss the trip.
"Go!" Xation shouted as he pointed towards the front door. Felina, Serena and Felina urged him sweetly to go and be examined by Charles. "Fine!" he said like a spoiled brat then he gave a sheepish look over at Felina saying "Felina, will you come with me?"
"Of course I will sweetheart." Felina said with a gentle loving smile of concern, then she turned her gaze sharply to her little sister saying "And you Serena, do not eat my dessert!" Felina laughed at her sister, adding insult to injury to Serena, who had endured comments from her mother Aphina all night about her weight, pointing out the fact that she had packed on nearly 20 pounds over the holidays; which was true, but no daughter, on the face of this earth, wants to be embarrassed by their own mother at the dinner table in front of family and friends. Aphina was only 'verbally prodding' her daughter, with her words and caustic remarks, to urge her back into the gym to slim down.
Meanwhile, as Serena skipped dessert and went to her room to change into her bikini for she suddenly had the urge to go for a sunset swim in the pool, Charles realized Bengiman had a nasty ear infection, in both ears, his alimentary canals were swollen and filled with puss ridden bacteria growing all the way down his throat, his lymph nodes under his jaw were tender and inflamed to the size of golf balls.
Bengiman winced in pain rubbing his throat, saying "It hurts when I swallow."
"Well that's the rumor." Charles laughed trying to ease the tension, but Mr.Pruce was not amused as Felina snickered a little as she slapped Charles on the shoulder telling him to be serious.
Charles continued on with the examination and he found his patient was running a high grade fever along with the bacterial infection and would require a massive dose of amoxicillin, a powerful antibiotic for the next seven days "You've been swimming down in the river again haven't you?" Charles asked peering down into his ear canal with his lighted otoscope.
"Yeah." he said in a low voice as if he were confessing to a priest.
Felina had a shocked look on her face and she said, scolding him "Have you been skinny dipping with my maids again Bengiman?" he only answered by hanging his head low "Bengiman, they are only 19!"
"But, Felina." he whined "They enjoy my company."
Here Felina stood and faced him eye to eye as he sat on the examining table, as she stared down at his lap "Oh, I am sure they do!" then she said tapping the crotch of his trousers with her index finger "That is not the point!" then she shook her head, folding her arms against her chest telling him "Do not force me to remove any more members of my household staff on your account, please, if you don't mind, if you think you can control yourself.., for the love of God." with that Felina let out a heavy sigh as she jumped up on the table sliding over next to Bengiman, sitting there holding his hand, then Felina turned her attention to Charles asking him "Well Doctor, what is your diagnosis?"
"Bengiman you have two very serious ear infections, I will give you some antibiotics, but you can not drink or smoke until you are well in a few days." he informed his grumbling patient. "I mean it! No alcohol. no cigarettes, no cocaine, nothing!"
     "Why?" he complained.
"Because the medicine will not work! And if we can't clear this up, the puss and bacteria will leach through your skull and get into your brain, and then.., you will be dead and you really won't be able to drink or smoke then! So give it a rest for few days. Healing takes time." Charles informed Bengiman, who gave him a dire look as if someone had just walked over his grave. "You should have come to me the moment you started getting sick."
"What about me trip?" Bengiman asked, already knowing what Charles was about to say.
"Yes, well about that." Charles paused.
"Oh no!" Felina interrupted as the devastated Englishman dropped his head as he listened to his doctor.
"Well, Bengiman I'm afraid, there is no way you can get on that plane tomorrow."
"Why? It's just an ear infection." Bengiman asked sounding more and more depressed.
"Listen, if you get on that plane in the morning, as soon as the captain pressurizes the cabin, you will hear two loud pops, followed by a life time of silence." Charles informed his patient correctly as was his sworn duty as a physician. "So if you want to go deaf for the rest of your life, for a week on Maui, than be my guest." Charles said as he walked over to the little sink washing and sanitizing his hands.
"Oh Bengi! My sick little darling, it looks like you won't make it to Kapalua this year after all. I am sorry, but don't worry sweetheart! I will be here to nurse you back to health." Felina said as she put her arm around the sad giant. "Well, Xation will be very disappointed." she sighed a little as she looked over at Charles, then Felina's face lit up when she was suddenly struck with an idea "Charles, you've been practicing your golf game, no?"
"Yes?" Charles responded wiping his hands dry on a paper towel.
"Why don't you go with Xation to Hawaii? You can take Bengiman's place." she smiled with a look of delight.
Charles was stunned by this prospect and he said "I think that is an capital idea!" he smiled as Bengiman sat there as feelings of rage, jealousy and loathing began filling Bengiman's heart and mind. He did not want Charles taking his place and he was so overcome with anger, by Felina's suggestion, Bengiman found himself unable to respond, nor could he speak as he stood to his feet, snatching his medicine from off the counter. As Bengiman stormed out of  the gatehouse slamming the front door behind him Felina ran after him calling out his name.
     "Bengiman, sweetheart, wait!"

Chapter 14 continues

Life for Charles passed slowly on the Estate, boredom settles in so easily in the country and he looked forward to his amorous weekends back in the city, though he was growing more and more needful of an American woman, someone he could better relate to. Alas tall, green-eyed, blonds are few and far between in Argentina so Charles found his sexual pleasure where he could. However he made a strict point of never bringing back any of his dates back to the townhouse, for he feared Felina, or Serena, might take extreme offense to this, and he was correct in his assumption as Felina would have become enraged if she ever found her beloved Charles in the arms of another. Yet, Felina did not show the same respect to Charles as she frequently would parade around her young 'Lotharios' at the country club, townhouse and poolside at the Estate. Though Charles was always most welcoming to Felina's gentlemen callers, but secretly he wanted to punch their teeth down their throats, but our Charles was a true gentleman and his jealosy could never surpass his reason, so he was more than able to muster up a little civility and graciousness for them all, but this was only out of respect to Felina.
Soon the long Summer passed into Fall late in March, down in the Southern Hemisphere, with not much occurring, it was around the first weekend in April when Xation, Bengiman and Carlo jetted off to Augusta, Georgia for the Master's PGA tournament, as they did every year, for Carlo had acquired lifetime passes a few years back. Charles wanted desperately to go along on the trip to get away from his dreary existence, but alas he was not invited. Then in May Felina and Serena, with great excitement, told Charles they were packing for their annual trip to Monaco for the Formula 1 race, this was made a tradition five years ago when Felina was engaged to one of the drivers on the FIA circuit, however the engagement was broken off due to her constant cheating, but Felina had developed a much greater love for Formula 1 racing, and the handsome drivers, than her betrothed. For Felina was able to show her fiance unity, respect, and honor but she lacked any talent or passion for loyalty so the two did not marry.
Felina was always so happy every year to fly to Nice, on the south coast of France, and board the luxury sailing vessel, the Il Ponte; which would sail them along the Cote d'Azur to Monte Carlo, then on to Monaco for four days. Charles grew eager for his invitation on this magnificent trip but he was informed this vacation was just for Xation, Serena and Felina. Charles was upset, feeling more like a member of the staff than a member of the family, but he was glad to know Bengiman was not included in their plans either. Charles was not looking forward to sharing the town house with Bengiman, back in Buenos Aires, so he remained at the Estate that cold, rainy weekend spending hours playing countless games of backgammon and chess with Aphina and Carlo, whom over the past few months had become like a mother and father to Charles, and their love and affection towards him was a comfort to his gentle soul.
When the the happy trio returned home, deeply tanned and well rested, Xation could sense Charles was unhappy he was not invited to go sailing in the Mediterranean, so in the middle of June, just before the short days and long nights of Winter set in down in South America, Xation, along with Hays, Bengiman and Charles all flew up to Aruba for two weeks; where they went deep sea fishing, swimming in the ocean, eating and drinking in their lavish, glutenous fill, living like 'modern day' princes, Xation, of course, playing the part of their King. Xation Day was a King, of his own making, being able to come and go as he pleased in life, having no one to answer to but God.
Our poor, Charles had come to this island longing for the sun and turquoise blue waters, the white sugar-like sand, with a pina colada in his hand, surrounded by the topless bathing beauties, the scent of coconut oil lifted from their golden skin through the air upon the warm tropic breeze, mixing with the sweet smell from the tropical flowers of Jasmine and Plumeria. Xation, Hays, Bengiman and Charles had a wonderful time relaxing together, enjoying each other's company, getting to know the friendly, local ladies. However, like all time in paradise, life on the lush, green isle flew by too quickly and soon the four friends were headed back on Xation's company plane to the cold grey Winter's day, where life on the Estate was very quiet. For it was Summer on the Costa del Sol in the South of Spain, where Aphina and Carlo would spend their days with Carlo's mother and father, the grandparents of Xation, Felina and Serena. The riding academy closed for the season, the gate house empty, just two maids remained to tend to the palatial home.
Charles was left on his own, he would occasionally go out exploring the country side and tiny villages, driving around for hours seeing what little adventure he could get up to, but he found few thrills to fill his heart with so he moped about until September. Fortunately soon Summer returned, bringing life and people back to the Estate, the gatehouse full of new students and the instructors at Felina's riding academy, this gave Charles the much needed human interaction, and conversation he had been starved for. Now when November was coming to a close, on the last Thursday of that month, Aphina and her daughters surprised Charles with a traditional American Feast of Thanksgiving, so he would not be so homesick for his life back in the United States. Charles was delighted all came to gather 'round the long table in the formal dining room, where they were all served roast turkey, with chestnut stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, candied yams, homemade crescent rolls, Waldorf salad, pumpkin pie with whipped cream, and pecan pie served with vanilla ice cream. Charles was delighted by this and he told all those gathered at the impeccably set table that day how thankful he was, indeed, for being welcomed into their family and Felina, Serena, Xation, Bengiman, Hays, Carlo, Aphina, and a few welcomed friends and guests, all lifted their glasses of champagne in a cheerful spirit of unity and friendship, telling Charles how much he was appreciated and loved.
